Southern Kafirkot (Bilot)


This site is located on the top of a hill close to the Bilot village on the right bank or river Indus in D I Khan.


Area: 42.47 Acres 411 Kanal 7 Marlas.


Ownership: State Land.


Notification No: Gazette of India No. 2 dated 8-1-1914.


This is an important site dated to 8th, 9th and 10th centuries A D. Here are ruins of the fort and four temples. Hard stone have applied in the fort wall and Kanjur stone have utilized in the construction of temples. In the fort projected bastions are still visible while badly 

damaged due to natural disasters and human hands.   

Moreover, all the four temples are too in very bad condition.


These ruins are quite safe and sound. A local named Shabir Hussain performing his duty as Chowkidar on the site. Here in no encroachment in this site but immediate conservation work should start here to preserve the ruined temples and restore the fort wall.
